The Medilink Business awards, held at the Nottingham Belfy, celebrate the achievements of businesses in the healthcare and bioscience sector in the East Midlands.
Nottingham has become a hub for these types of firms, helped by the launch of BioCity in 2002 – a business incubator for new firms operating in the life sciences field – and Medicity at the Boots site in Beeston.
The Wellbeing Software Group, in Mansfield, won the collaboration with the NHS award. It supplies specialist IT systems to the NHS across primary care, specifically within maternity and radiology departments.
Director Chris Yeowart said: “Working in partnership with the NHS is a key element in the success of businesses operating in the UK’s healthcare and bioscience sector, so we are delighted to have won this prestigious award in recognition of our on-going work with the NHS.”
Medilink East Midlands is the region’s life science industry association, whose aim is to help companies establish, develop and grow.
Chief executive Darren Clark said: “Congratulations to our three Nottingham winners. The Ear Foundation, Nu Vision and the Wellbeing Software Group are very different organisations but have shown exceptional skills and expertise in their respective categories.”
