HSS & StageCRAFT are finalists for EHI 2014 Awards

1st August 2014

Healthcare Software Solutions (HSS) has today announced that its integrated cancer staging solution, StageCRAFT has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious EHI awards 2014. The solution is a finalist within the Healthcare IT Product Innovation category. HSS has worked collaboratively with Dr Martin Crowe of King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust, supported by Health Enterprise East, to integrate Dr Crowe’s solution with CRIS, the UK’s market leading radiology information system. StageCRAFT assists radiologists in the process of staging common malignancies and reduces the need to refer to books or rely on memory, thus reducing potential for error or inconsistency. Simple checkbox-clicking gives an instantaneous TNM stage and group stage.  Winners will be announced at the EHI Awards ceremony which will be held at the Roundhouse in London on Thursday 9 October 2014.

StageCRAFT uses the latest version (7) of the internationally recognised TNM system, developed by the Union for International Cancer Control. The solution will support the drive towards improvements in structured reporting and greater adherence to national standards. StageCRAFT is available as an integrated module of CRIS, HSS’ Radiology Information System, or as a standalone application.

Dr Martin Crowe says “I am delighted that StageCraft has been shortlisted in these awards. The feedback we have received for the solution thus far has been very positive, and the integrated solution within CRIS is extremely impressive.”

Chris Yeowart, Director of Wellbeing Software Group says: “Having observed the EHI awards for the last few years, I know how competitive all of the categories are and am therefore really pleased to reach the final. It is great that innovation in the radiology industry has been recognised by EHI, demonstrating what is possible when commercial entities collaborate with the NHS and clinical experts such as Martin. I am sure there are many great ideas that have been developed at the coal-face which can be brought to the wider market through commercial partnership. This is something HSS and the Wellbeing Software Group plans to do more in future.”
