Healthcare Software Solutions (HSS) has today announced that its fully integrated radiation dose monitoring solution, DoseMonitor, has been awarded a CE Mark by the MHRA. DoseMonitor is the result of an expert partnership between the UK’s dominant RIS provider and PACSHealth, the market leading dose monitoring system in the US. The MHRA CE Mark means that DoseMonitor is now officially accredited for use as a medical device in the UK – a critical consideration for all NHS bodies.
DoseMonitor monitors patient exposure to ionizing radiation, helping healthcare professionals to protect patients and meet increasingly stringent regulations. The solution helps hospitals and radiographers to perform the required tests and to capture appropriate medical images while monitoring risk and staying in compliance. The fully integrated, browser-based solution automates dose data collection and reporting, enabling hospitals to manage – and therefore minimise – patient radiation dose, and comply with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines, while increasing efficiency and reducing cost through transparency of workflow.
Chris Yeowart, Director at Wellbeing Software Group says: “Due to its significant market presence, HSS is well positioned to support trusts in achieving compliance with the new European directive on radiation monitoring, via its fully integrated RIS and radiation dose monitoring system. HSS could make a major contribution to the creation of a national radiation dose registry, meeting the strategic intention of the DH. This aligns with HSS’ strategy and ongoing engagement with DH and PHE, to support the development of other national registries.”
