Apollo Medical Systems, the leading supplier of Primary Care data extracts to the NHS and Private Sector in the UK, today announced it has successfully partnered with Insight UK Ltd to win the tender to deliver data for the National Diabetes Audit. The tender, awarded by the NHS Information Centre (NHS IC), will see Apollo securely deliver data from over 4500 GP Practices across England for the 5th year running to support the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) which is delivered by the NHS IC Clinical Audit Support Unit. The NDA is the largest annual clinical audit in the world and provides an infrastructure for the collation, analysis, benchmarking and feedback of local clinical data to support effective clinical audit across the NHS.
Apollo’s industry-leading solution will extract data from GP Practices and securely transmit the data from each practice to the NHS IC secure servers where it will be uploaded into their amalgamated database. The information helps guide organisations implementing the Diabetes National Service Framework (NSF) and is key to improving services for people with diabetes.
Steve Avery, Managing Director of Apollo Medical Systems says: “Having successfully delivered data to the IC for the NDA over the last 4 years we are delighted to be involved again in such an important and high profile project”.
Apollo has worked on the NDA project since it won an initial tender in 2006, and retained the contract after a rigorous tender process via Insight UK Ltd.
